Tylenol and Sweet Potato Fries

After about 5 months of suspecting it, I am now 99% sure that Abby is teething.  We have in the last 2 days escalated from finger chewing and drooling to red cheeks, explosive diarrhea and noises that only a baby in pain can make.

My poor little bumblebee.

Saturday night my sister watched her for a few hours and reported back that Abby had woken up in a state that my sister had never witnessed from her before.  Her cheeks were red, but I thought maybe she had gotten burnt during our family pictures, and my sister suspected gas pain.  Poor babes.

After needing to have her highchair PRESSURE WASHED the next morning due to an unsavory activity, and also covering my shirt in poop when I picked her up the second time, we have locked in a diagnosis.  Those teeth are a comin'!

Really, she is pretty much her normal self until they start to hurt, and then it is screams and eyes full of tears.  I feel terrible for her.  She even was sleeping in my arms and moaning at one point.  Tylenol seems to be doing the trick, but I also had a stroke of genius at my mom's house last night and gave her some frozen sweet potato fries to chew on.  Seriously, these things calmed her down in 2 seconds flat, so I definitely took a baggie full home.

I have seen more tears come from my baby in the last 2 days than I have in the last 2 months.  She really isn't much of a crier, so I feel just terrible for her when she just suddenly dissolves in tears and can't be calmed.  I know that this is just part of her growing up, but I wish I could take the pain away.  I have an amber teething necklace on the way, but does anyone else have any tricks for relieving the pain?
